Closing airport
I read with despair the news titled “Srinagar airport to close for 12 days”. I had to return home to celebrate Eid with my family. But it is not possible now. Here in Dubai, it has never happened that flights on account of runway repairs have been suspended. But it seems that the Defence Ministry has made it a point to harass Kashmiris. The airport is being closed despite the fact that the Srinagar-Jammu highway is a troublesome journey, especially for the aged people. I deeply resent the state government’s acceptance to close down the airport.
