Govt-gunman held on murder charge
Srinagar: Police on Monday arrested a government gunman and his accomplice for their alleged involvement in the murder of two siblings of Tangmarg area in north Kashmir’s Varmul district.
Ghulam Mohiuddin, 37, and Muhammad Ashraf, 31 sons of Habibullah Bhat of Choker Pattan were attacked by unknown persons near Jakhan Nar area on the Tangmarg -Kunzer link road on Sunday last week. The injured brothers were taken to SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Bemina and Soura. However, both the siblings succumbed.
Mohiuddin was the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir while his younger brother was an employee in the Animal Husbandry department.
After initial investigations Police arrested Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a government gunman and his accomplice Tariq Ahmad Chopan for their alleged involvement in the double murder. Some more arrests are likely to be made in coming days. (PBI)
