Srinagar Aug 3: District Magistrate, Kupwara Showkat Ahmad Mir Tuesday placed Zonal Education Officer, Trehgam Muhammad Munawar Shah under suspension for refusing to perform magisterial duties to quell the prevailing unrest, an official spokesman said.
According to the official handout, the suspended official had refused to perform magisterial duties assigned to him by the District Magistrate. He has been attached with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara

In a related development, two police personnel namely Meraj-ud-Din Lone son of Muhammad Maqbool Lone (Constable) and Bilal Ahmed Rather (Constable) son of Muhammad Akbar Rather residents to Naidkhai area of district Bandipora resigned from their services on Monday.
Constable Bilal, told Greater Kashmir, that he took the step "as his conscience did not allow him to carry out the orders which were putting his fellow citizens at risk."
