Core group reviews security situation

Jammu, Aug 5: Security situation in Jammu region, especially in view of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and ensuing I-Day, was reviewed during a Core Group meeting, here on Wednesday. The meeting was co-haired by the General Officer Commanding 16 Corps and Security Advisor Lieutenant General Rameshwar Roy, a defence spokesman said adding the meeting was also attended by Civil, Police, PMF and Army Officers including Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Commissioner SB, Joint Director IB, IG Police Jammu, IG CRPF and IG BSF.  General Officers Commanding of various formations affiliated to 16 Corps were also present for the meeting. “The meeting reviewed the security situation in Jammu region in light, of impending I- day and intensified attempts of infiltration”, he said.
