Soz, Farooq call on PM
New Delhi, Aug 5: State Congress chief Saifuddin Soz today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and is understood to have suggested that an all-party delegation be sent there. During the meeting, Soz gave his assessment of the situation in the Valley which has been witnessing unabated violence in which 41 people have died so far.
Soz, a Rajya Sabha member, is understood to have impressed that efforts needed to be intensified to restore peace in the Valley, sources said.
During the day, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah also met the Prime Minister and gave his assessment of the situation in the Valley.
