Appoint representative to review K-situation: JKSM to UN

Muzaffarabad, Aug 6: The Pakistan Administered Kashmir APHC chapter leader and J&K Salvation Movement acting chairman, Tufail Altaf Bhat has appealed to the United Nations to appoint a representative for reviewing the Kashmir situation.
 Paying tributes to Muhammad Yaqoob, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Ghulam Muhammad and others killed in troops firing in Kashmir, Tufail in a statement, condemned the use of brute force by paramilitary forces and policemen against the unarmed and peaceful protestors.
 Tufail appealed the people of Kashmir to participate in the ongoing mass movement in large numbers to take the freedom struggle to its logical conclusion. He urged the international community to impress upon India to stop genocide of Kashmiris and resolve the dispute in accordance with the aspirations of people.
 He also asked India to withdraw its troops from Kashmir, release all the Hurriyat leaders including party chairman, Zaffar Akbar Bhat and activists and revoke all the draconian laws.
 Meanwhile, a meeting of APHC was held in Islamabad with its convenor, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar in chair. The participants reiterated the pledge to continue the struggle till its logical end. “They meeting discussed Kashmir situation and expressed concern over the killing of civilians and continued human rights violations by the troops,” a statement said.
 Condemning the detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists, they appealed to the international human rights organisations to pressurize India to release all the separatists.
