Innocents continue to die: Mehbooba

GK NEWSNETWORK

Srinagar, Aug 7: Peoples Democratic Party Saturday said that though stone pelting had effectively disappeared from the streets of Kashmir following the intervention of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the ‘trigger-happy’ forces continue to shoot unarmed youth.
Condemning the killing of another youth, Rameez Ahmad in Sopur, the party president, Mehbooba Mufti said that it seems shooting to kill has become a pass-time for the state government and the troopers. She said Shabir was killed allegedly in cold-blood in Pulwama even as the procession was peaceful and following in letter and spirit the advice of Geelani.
Similarly, Mehbooba said a youth was shot without any provocation at Saraf Kadal.
She said the party always maintained that the state government had let loose a rein of terror and was using bullets and guns without provocation. “During the past three days there has been no incident of stone pelting or attempt to destroy public property or any other violent act still three precious lives have been lost as a result of use of force by the government,” she added.
