Airtel restores communication in Leh

Srinagar, Aug 8: The cloudburst that consumed more than a hundred lives in Leh and destroyed property worth crores, has damaged the BSNL exchange at Nimu Leh severing entire BSNL communication in the area, sources said.
 However, sources said the Airtel telephony has provided its services to restore the communication with the district.
 Sources said to restore the communication with the district, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir had approached Airtel authorities requesting them to arrange Airtel SIM phones on emergency basis.
 Sources said the company arranged seven SIM cards immediately and activated them and handed them over to Deputy Commissioner Leh to restore communication with Leh.
