Govt to introduce e-governance in Revenue Department
‘Computerization of records on anvil’

Jammu, Aug 8: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that the government was embarking on a plan to modernize the functioning of Revenue department by introducing e-governess and online accessibility for the people.
“For the purpose the new Revenue Complexes are being developed on modern lines with focus on installation of people-friendly mechanism, in which these will function in a paper free and hassle free manner, as envisaged in e-Governance”, he added
The Minister was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of Revenue Complex (Niabat building) Satwari at Lower Gadigarh, Jammu, being constructed on 5676.80 Sq Ft area at a cumulative estimated cost of Rs. 1.72 crore, an official statement said.
The complex would house meeting hall, store room, Patwaris room, clerks’ room, retiring room, Tehsildar’s Court along with accommodation for election cell, disaster management room and computerised record section .
Bhalla said that for bringing transparency and accountability in Revenue Department, the Government has embarked on a comprehensive modernisation programme under which the revenue records are being computerized, besides developing a database for making the information about the revenue records easily accessible to the public.
