Utter failure

This refers to the heart rending cycle of violence that has gripped Kashmir. What stands out starkly in this phase of violence is total failure of both central and state government to deal with the situation. Unbridled use of military force against unarmed civilians is both barbaric and unjustified. No government irrespective of it being ‘democratically elected’ by the people or as in this case’ democratically forced’ upon the people has moral, ethical or legal right to have its citizens killed for protesting or for that matter showing dissent. The ironical thing is that people are dying at the hands of so called ‘security forces’ who are supposed to be there for protecting the people they are killing. It’s high time that all the parties involved try to address the cause of the malady rather than forcible treatment of the symptoms, which will never work for sure.
