Govt dissolves Coop Housing Corp BOD

JAMMU, Nov 30: Government Tuesday dissolved Board of Directors of State Cooperative Housing Corporation following allegations of mismanagement.
 Informed sources told Greater Kashmir that the government dissolved BoDs of the Corporation and vested all the powers with the Deputy Commissioner Jammu. The order, they said, was issued following complaints of alleged mismanagement of the Corporation by the Board.
 According to the sources following the complaints against BOD, an inquiry was initiated about three months back by the government. Joint Registrar-Audit, sources said, was appointed as the enquiry head, and he submitted its findings to the Registrar of the society a fortnight ago.
 The Corporation is executing some prestigious housing projects in twin capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
 “It was found during the initial inquiry that rules were being violated in the purchase of land”, said Minister for Cooperatives, Manohar Lal.
