Jammu: The Public Service Commission has declared result of KAS preliminary examination in a record time.According to an official communiqué, the result was available on the Commission’s website www.jkpsc.org. The result is also available on the Greater Kashmir website, www.greaterkashmir.com.
Man killed, 10 hurt in road mishaps
Srinagar: A man was killed and ten others injured in road accidents across the Valley.A tipper (JK10-2362) collided with a car (JK10-3639) in Leh district of Ladakh killing the car driver Khalid Ahmad Pai son of Amir-ud-Din of Shamswari here and injuring Raman Kumar, Sonu daughter of Joginder Kumar of Gurdaspora Punjab, police said adding the wounded had been hospitalized.Eight persons were wounded when a Sumo (JK01H-8258) they were travelling in from (Islamabad) Anantnag to Srinagar skidded off the road at Semthan, Bijbehara, police said adding the injured had been shifted to sub-district hospital.
Manigam power trouble
Srinagar: The residents of Manigam, Ganderbal today complained of receiving erratic power supply to the area.“We hardly get five to six hours of power supply a day and that too is erratic,” a delegation led by Engineer Ali Muhammad Bhat.
Farewell accorded

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, at a condolence meeting held at Sanoor Kalipora, in Budgam on Tuesday with its vice-chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat in chair, paid glowing tributes to the Shaheed Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Mir alias Hyder Ali, Shaheed Ghulam Muhammad Mir alias Jamal-ud-Din and Shaheed Abdul Gani on their martyrdom anniversary.Bhat said, “The martyrs are our real leaders who kept the flame of freedom struggle alive with their blood.” The meeting offered special prayers for the martyrs and reiterated the pledge to take their mission to its logical end.
Invoke WRA to check Jhelum encroachments: Taj
Pampore, Nov 30: PHE Minister, Taj Mohi ud Din has asked the engineers to invoke the recently enacted Water Resources Act to clear encroachments along Jhelum and secure the water resources in the State.Chairing a meeting of engineers here, he said the Act was a comprehensive law by which all hydraulic problems like smuggling of bed material, illegal tapping of sources, encroachments etc could be effectively checked. He said section 156 of the Act clearly envisages the offences and punishment which can go up to one year imprisonment and Rs. 10,000 fine or both.
