KU to host 6th JK science congress

Srinagar, Nov 30:  Around 1000 delegates from across the country are participating  in the 6th JK Science Congress to be hosted by Kashmir University from December 2 at the varsity campus.
 The KU PRO Showkat Shafi said: “About 600 research papers covering various spheres of science will be read during the three day conference, which will commence at Kashmir Universities Convocation complex.”
 In the past, five Annual Science Congresses have so far been organized, three (in 2005, 2007 and 2009) at University of Jammu and two (in 2006 and 2008) at KU.
 “The J&K Science congress is the appropriate forum for presentation and cross fertilization of ideas by local scientists and experts in response to anticipated needs for regional sustainable development,” the PRO said.
 The congress convenor Prof AR Yousuf said: “As is quite apparent from the research papers to be presented in the forthcoming Congress, the academia and scientific fraternity of the State have taken the challenge in the right perspective and most of the presentations are well focused and oriented towards sustainable development of the region.”
