Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) varsity to have reservation for poor

Srinagar, Dec 12: The Carvan-e-Islami chairman, Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami today said the Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) University Advisory Board had decided to provide reservations to the poor students of all the three regions of the state in the proposed varsity.
 Addressing a Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) Conference, here, Maulana Hami gave a resume of the proposed University and said he had met various Ulema, scholars and educationists including Peer Allaudin in Birmingham and Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadiri both in and outside the country for discussing various features of this prestigious institution. He urged the people to extend their full cooperation. 
 He said Carvan-e-Islami had a proposal to establish a model school where besides religious education; CBSE pattern syllabus would be introduced.
 Director Information, Khawaja Farooq Renzu Shah urged the need for promoting the teachings of Sufi Saints who have always preached mutual brotherhood and social justice.
 Complementing the Carvan-e-Islami for taking the initiative for setting up of the University, he hoped that the varsity would go a long way in spreading the message of Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA)  not only in India but abroad also.
 Moulvi Mushtaq Khan of south Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, M.A. Kakroo, Khurshid Ahmad Kanangoo, Director Tourism, Farooq Shah, Moulana Showkat Keng and Director SKIMS, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar also spoke on the occasion.
