JKTDC registers highest ever profit for 2009-10

Jammu, Dec 13: The 84th Board of Directors meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation Limited was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora. Managing Director Satish Nehru gave power point presentation of physical and financial achievements of Corporation and also placed before the Board. The balance sheet of the year 2009-10, which recorded profit of Rs 135 lakhs as against Rs 46 lakhs of 2008-09. He also informed the Board that this profit has been achieved even after paying salary to employees as per Sixth Pay Commission recommendations, which involved financial implication of Rs 6 crore per annum.
Among other decisions, grant of additional House Rent Allowance of 2.5% to the employees of corporation and raising the wages of casual/consolidated employees to the minimum of Rs 3300 was also approved. The performance of Transport Division was also reviewed and in view of quantum jump in profit of Rs 50 lakh registered during 2009-10 from transport division proposal for acquiring 6 new vehicles was also approved. To strengthen the professionalism in the corporation, the proposal for appointment of 10 Jr. Executives on contractual basis with professional qualification in the corporation to strengthen its service was also approved. The proposal for engagement of professional executives at senior slot of General Manager was also given nod. The Board of Directors desired that every employee of the corporation should work for over all development of corporation and provide best service to the cliental in all its accommodation and restaurants. The employee who will not prove themselves upto the standard may be shown the door after screening their performance record.
