CT Deptt gives tips to assessees on e-filing

Jammu, Dec 14: The Department of Commercial Taxes today conducted a seminar to familiarize the stakeholders about computerization project embarked upon by the department to automate its working.
Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Khawaja Bashir Ahmad gave an overview of the e-project.
He said the aim of the seminar is to aware the people especially traders’ fraternity about e-registration, return filing and payments for which the department is geared up to use state-of-the-art data centre equipped with the latest servers and routers duly supported with internet and intranet.
Khawaja Bashir said that the project aims at streamlining the system and providing transparent services to the dealers. He assured the dealers about facilitation of the system for their convenience and goodwill, an official statement said.
Earlier, expert on the project, Alok Jain explained in detailed the concepts of e-filing. He said the system on operation would promote interface between the department and traders fraternity.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were the representatives from Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, Association Associated Chamber of Retailers Federation, Jammu, Association of Small Scale Industries Association, Digiana and Gangyal, Bari Brahamana Industrial Association, Association of Chartered Accountants, Tax Bar Association, Jammu and Association of Sales Tax Practitioners.
