PDP attends DDB meetings after a year

MEHBOOBA STAYS AWAY

Srinagar, Dec 14: After boycotting District Development Board meetings for nearly a year, opposition People's Democratic Party MLAs on Tuesday attended these for Pulwama and Shopian districts in south Kashmir, officials said.
All the five PDP MLAs, except the party president Mehbooba Mufti, from the two districts were present in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to review the progress of development works carried out in the area, they said.
This is for the first time in nearly one year that the PDP MLAs have attended the DDB meetings in these districts. They had boycotted the earlier meetings as a mark of protest against “human rights violations” in the Valley.
