SVO files case against SP Security
Jammu: The State Vigilance Organization on Tuesday registered a case against Superintendent of Police Security Jammu, Romesh Kumar Bhat for allegedly demanding and accepting illegal gratification from a villager in Rajouri district.
The case, as per the sources, was registered against Bhat following a communication issued by General Administration Department, which conducted preliminary investigation against the accused official.
It was learnt that the accused officer, during his posting as Additional SP Nowshera, Rajouri, had allegedly demanded an accepted illegal gratification of Rs 20,000 from a woman, whose husband was illegally detained by the police. The complainant Chanchal Kumari wife of Mahesh Singh, had alleged that the accused official on November 16, 2009 detained her husband on some false charges and allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 for his release.
