Don’t oppose
This refers to Mubarak Hameed’s letter titled “Consider it.” The Department of Education has taken a positive step by canceling the winter vacations in Kashmir. During this session student community has suffered a lot and there is no way by which the government can compensate the loss. When our students can attend the crowded coaching institutes with no window panes in winter, why can’t they attend their schools? I have personally witnessed that parents in rural areas are quite happy with this move. There are students who belong to poor families can’t afford to pay the huge tuition fees. Cancellation of winter vacations may definitely provide a little bit of relief to these parents and students. Further in our valley we have witnessed more sunny days during winter season from the last few years and the mercury is considerably rising. Gone are the days when it was difficult for people to move from one place to another place during heavy snow fall.
