Jammu to get more tourist parks

Jammu, Dec 15: In view of heavy rush of pilgrim tourists in Jammu city throughout the year, the government will develop more parks in and around the winter capital city for their facility. This, according to an official statement, was stated by the Minister for Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma while inspecting the ongoing work of Panjbakhtar Park near Residency road here today.
Sharma said that nearly one crore tourists visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine annually after which they visit Jammu city, which has necessitated to create more recreational facilities to prolong their stay. “We have to create more facilities for the visitors to enhance their stay in Jammu and possibilities will be explored to develop more parks on the lines of Bagh-i-Bahu and Chatha Park to make the stay of tourists more comfortable and charming”, Sharma maintained.
The Minister was apprised that execution of Panjbakhtar Park was taken up three months back at an estimated cost of Rs 56.70 lakh and its spadework has been completed.
