5 qntl polythene bags, Rs 17,000 fine recovered

Srinagar, Dec 16: Following the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation has intensified its drive against to check the sale of polythene bags with five quintal bags being recovered Thursday.
 The SMC Health Officer Dr Reyaz Ahmed said a fine of Rs 17,000 was also recovered from the erring traders.
 Meanwhile the SMC has warned the traders to refrain from sale or use of polythene bags pleading strict action would be taken against the offenders.
