Tax department all set to go hi-tech

Srinagar, Dec 18: The Department of Commercial Taxes today conducted a computer familiarization session for the stakeholders of Kashmir Division including traders and manufacturers and the functionaries of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Commercial Taxes, J&K, Khawaja Bashir Ahmed disclosed that the Department is set for computerization which would be trader friendly.
The computerization would reduce the cost and time for the dealers and would provide effective monitoring system for the department, he said.
Besides, the unified view for quick for quick responses would also be available on the system, he said.
The Department, he said, will launch a web portal www.jkcomtax.gov.in which would provide all the services to the traders viz. registration, amendments, filing of returns-payments on line.
