Batamaloo hopeful of road widening

Srinagar, Dec 1: The Welfare Committee Dhobi Mohalla on Wednesday said it was hopeful that the road between the Batamaloo Bazar and Firdousabad would be widened soon.
The committee President Abdul Kabir Bhat said a delegation of residents led by him called on the local MLA Irfan Shah to discuss the issue.
“He (MLAA) assured us that the road would be widened soon adding that Rs six crore have been earmarked for the project,” Kabir said in a statement.
“We hope that the government will fulfil all promises it made with the people of Batamaloo about the development of the area,” he added.
Meanwhile, the residents have hailed the Executive Engineer PDD, Bashir Ahmed Baba for “upholding his commitment of power supply during a religious function” in the area.
