Srinagar, Dec 1: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front is organizing a torch procession on the International Human Rights Day on December 10, from Khankahi Moula here after Asar prayers.
“The procession will pass through different localities and end at Lal Chowk here,” said a spokesman of the Front in a statement issued today from Maqbool Manzil here, adding that various other programmes will also be held on that day.
Meanwhile, Front has decided to organize a seminar titled “Services of Shaheed Prof. Abdul Ahad Bhat and intellectuals’ role” on December 31, on the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Prof. Abdul Ahad Wani.
This was stated by the Front Chairman Muhammad Yaseen Malik while addressing condolences meetings held at the residences of recently martyred youth in district Budgam.  He accompanied by Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Mir Muhammad Zaman, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Sheikh Nazir ahmad, Moulana Rubani,  Ashraf bin Salam, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and Prof. Javid. He visited the residences of Fayaz Ahmad of Gotapora Budgam and Muhamnmad Umar of Narbal and sympathized with their families.
Malik said the Front would organize different programmes on International Human Rights Day on December 10, including Torch Procession to highlight the human rights violations being perpetrated by the armed forces to muzzle the popular voice of people of Jammu Kashmir for freedom of their homeland.
Malik said the Kashmiris made a transition from violent means of protests to peaceful protests and they demonstrated it fully in 2008 when lakhs of them including men, women, children and old came to streets for days together, holding peaceful demonstrations.
