Now, it’s cooking gas Cylinder theft in Sadder area
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Dec 19: Emboldened by police inaction burglars have now started stealing cooking gas cylinders from houses and compounds in the jurisdiction of Police Sadder in south City suburb.
The latest victims are Ghulam Jeelani Laigroo, Lane 1st of Ibrahim Colony, from whose compound thieves took away one cylinder which had been kept outside for safety reasons and was connected to the gas stove inside.
Similarly two cylinders were stolen from the house of one Dr Shafqat Kakroo in lane 5 of the colony.
Earlier there were a series burglaries committed by thieves in Gulberg Colony and Ibrahim Colony which created a sense of insecurity among the people. The victims have alleged that the police know the burglars operating in the area and is yet not laying hands on them. The victims alleged that the police for purposes of pretence is calling the victims occasionally and then seeking information which is not even remotely connected to the thefts.
Had police been sincere in investigating the cases it would have sought help from forensic laboratory on the days of occurrence of the thefts, asked some of the victims talking to Greater Kashmir.
The victims alleged the police was not even doing its basic job of area domination by conducting night and day patrols.
Police doesn’t even respond when someone is in need of its help, alleged a victim.
The locals appealed the Inspector General of Police, Shiv Morari Sahai to look into the matter.
