Positive step

Winter schooling in Kashmir is really a positive step and needs to be taken positively. The people who criticise the decision are those who find tuition industry dying because of this.  They can't think of anything other than money. They don't have the moral courage to appreciate good initiatives. No doubt private coaching and tuition centers play a vital role in preparing our students for competitive exams. But the mushroom growth of tuition centers without any regulations and accountability is unwarranted.  In this regard the government decision to ban the unregistered tuition centres is also a good move. This step if implemented would definitely raise the standard of education in the state. Otherwise every second man is there to lure the gullible parents and students. Unfortunately there is lack of implementation on part of the authorities. Private coaching has the right to flourish but not at the cost of regular schooling where the government is investing a lot in terms of money and manpower. The co-operation of all sections of the society is a must for the success of such constructive programmes. As parent and teacher I don't think there is any major problem if we direct our youngsters towards schools instead of coaching centres..
