Cold wave continues

Srinagar, Dec 22: Cold wave continued to sweep Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday, despite a slight improvement in the temperature.
Kargil was the coldest with minus 10.6 degree Celsius, an increase of one degree from yesterday’s 11.6 deg C.
Srinagar recorded a low of minus 5.4 degrees Celsius as compared to the season’s lowest of minus 6.2 degrees Celsius the previous night.
Leh district in frontier region of Ladakh recorded minus 9.6 deg C, an increase of seven notches as against Tuesday’s minus 17 deg C due to cloud.
The temperature in Pahalgam hill resort, which serves as the base camp for the annual Amarnath yatra, was minus 5.6 deg C as against Tuesday’s minus 7 deg C.
The famous ski resort of Gulmarg also recorded a sub-zero temperature of minus 5.6 deg C, Met office said.
