KU professor gets Sahitya Akademi Award

Srinagar, Dec 22: Noted Kashmiri writer and head Markazi Noor Sheikul aalam Chair Kashmir University, Prof Bashar Bashir has been awarded this year's prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for his book Yemen Paden Mey Wechar Gochae.
University community has congratulated Prof Bashar for the award.
The book based on criticism and the works of 14th century saint Sheikhul Aalam (RA) has been adjudged the best book in Kashmiri presented to the Akademi for this year's awards.
The award carries a cash reward of Rs one lakh, a citation and memento.
Prof Bashar has authored many books on Kashmiri literature.
