Srinagar, Dec 23: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, convened a high level meeting of civil and police officers on Thursday to review arrangements regarding ensuing R-Day celebrations, an official spokesman said.
He said the Divisional Commissioner directed the Chief Engineer, Power to ensure adequate power supply in and around Bakshi Stadium besides illumination of the all important government buildings. He also directed the Chief Engineer UEED to make water pumps available in the stadium and in the parking places in and outside the stadium so that water logging portions are cleared in case of snow or rain.
The Div Com, according to the spokesman, directed the authorities of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to make arrangements regarding sanitation of the stadium area.
