Lone urges Ulema to play positive role
SUMBAL CLASHES
Srinagar, Dec 24: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA Sonawari, Muhammad Akbar Lone on Friday appealed all the religious heads and Ulema to play a positive role to strengthen ties between Shia and Sunni communities.
An official spokesman said Lone met the elders of both the communities of Sumbal Inderkote here and urged them to remain calm and live in the same traditional atmosphere of brotherhood for which they are known since centuries.
The Speaker hoped that all the people irrespective would maintain peace and tranquillity and extend full cooperation to the administration in maintaining law and order.
Top officials including Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, IGP, Kashmir, S.M. Sahai, DIG Baramulla, Muneer Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora,. Manzoor Ahmad Lone, SP Bandipora, Junaid and others were also present on the occasion.
