‘Fertilizer licenses to be given at village level’

Jammu, Dec 27: In a significant decision of far reaching consequences, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir has announced to grant fertilizer licenses at village level. To be issued by Chief Agriculture Officer at district level, any educated unemployed candidate will be eligible for securing the license, he added. The Minister made this announcement during agriculture, sericulture review meeting of Samba and Kathua districts today this afternoon at Samba, an official statement said. Mir called upon the youth to come forward and get the licenses for sale of fertilizers. This, he said will strengthen our distribution system besides providing employment avenues to the job seekers. He said the aim of issuing licenses at village level is to cut in size the bigwigs who always hamper the distribution system at peak season.
