Pak violated ceasefire in Poonch: Army
Srinagar, Dec 2: The hostile armies of India and Pakistan on Thursday exchanged heavy gunfire in Krishna Gati (KG) sector of Mendhar in Poonch district.
Army said that the Pakistan Army opened heavy fire with RPG and machine guns at the Kranti Post, Ravi Post and Kripan post along the line of control (LoC) in KG sector of Mendhar around 1350 hours this afternoon.
Army’s 25 Div deployed along the LoC, officials said retaliated to the ‘unprovoked’ firing by the Pakistan Rangers.
The exchange of fire lasted for over 10 minutes. However, around 1430 hours, the intermittent exchange of fire resumed.
"Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire agreement by attacking three of our forward posts in Krishna Gati sector of the district this afternoon. They opened fire with RPG’s and machine guns at our positions without any reason,” Army’s 16 Corps spokesmen, Imraan Mousvi said.
“Our men returned the fire. The exchange of gunfire is going on,” he added.
