Kangan police refutes news

Kangan: The Kangan police has refuted a news report carried by a newspaper that it was harassing Muhammad Shafi Khan of Gooripoa Kangan and his sons. The police said Khan and his sons were “wanted” in a land dispute case and were evading arrest. “They were trying to defame the police.”

Ganderbal, Dec 4: Police has seized 16 logs of illicit timber near Fathepora here on Saturday.Police said on a tip off, they stopped a vehicle (JKE-9676) and seized the timber which was allegedly being smuggled to Srinagar. An accused Abbas Khan of Gutlibagh was arrested and booked under FIR (No. 178/379 RPC), police said.
