Body recovered in Bijbehara
Srinagar, Dec 5: Police has recovered a body of a man at Samthan Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
According to police communiqué, the deceased was identified as Ali Muhammad Wagay son of Abdul Gaffar Wagay of Hatigam Srigufwara. “The postmortem was conducted at SDH Bijbehara and the body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites,” it said adding a case had been registered.
Fukki seized
Srinagar, Dec 5: Police has seized three sacs of Fukki at Tulkhun Bijbehara from a car (JK03-0223).
According to police communiqué, the contraband was seized from the possession of Farooq Ahmad Penchoo of Jawberara, Awantipora and Khurshid Ahmad Dar of Tukna, Awantipora.
B Ed aspirants appeal VC KU
Srinagar, Dec 5: The B. Ed aspirants have appealed to the Vice-Chancellor Kashmir University to declare their result immediately.
A delegation told Greater Kashmir that they were planning to apply for the teachers’ post advertised by the SSB recently. “But we want to add B.Ed as one of our qualification in the application form and for that the KU authorities should declare the result forthwith,” the delegation said.
They sought personal intervention of the Vice-Chancellor in this regard.
Medical camp organized
Srinagar, Dec 5: The Spring Buds Educational Trust, Ompora Budgam in collaboration with the Geniis Health Trust organized a medical camp at Ompora on Saturday.
More the 1500 people participated in the camp, in which medicos informed them about heart diseases and hypertension. About 600 patients were treated and medicines worth Rs 1,50,000 were distributed free of cost to them.
Illicit timber seized in Boniyar
Srinagar, Dec 5: A joint party of Boniyar Police and Forest department Boniyar Range has seized 32 log of illicit timber from a vehicle (HR55T-4418).
However, the driver of the vehicle Aijaz Ahmad Mir son of Saif-ud-Din Mir of Gantamulla, Baramulla escaped from the spot, an official said adding a case had been registered and efforts were on to arrest the culprit.
