EDB launches mobile banking service

Srinagar, Dec 6: For the convenience of its customers Ellaquai Dehati Bank today launched a ‘Mobile Van Service’ to provide door to door banking services to the people in remote, far flung and unbanked areas in J&K.
In the first instance the vehicle named “Khushal Gaon” equipped
with modern digital/electronic equipments was flagged off at village Rattian Miran Sahab R S Pora Jammu by K K Iyer, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, Jammu in presence of Chairman EDB A K Razdan.
While addressing a large gathering on the spot, Iyer lauded the initiative taken by the bank in bringing the rural people within the ambit of banking services.
Razdan apprised the people about the banks schemes and saving plans.
Meanwhile, many accounts were opened on the spot and the passbooks issued to the customers.
