Close down

This refers to the news titled “Close down liquor shops” (GK Jan 22). Consumption of liquor is disastrous for any society. It deprives an individual of his senses and makes him violent. He falls prey to other evils as well. The residents of Buchwara Dalgate should be encouraged for requesting the state government to dismantle the liquor shops from residential areas. If the Jammu and Kashmir government is able to do it, it will be its biggest contribution to the society.
