JK Bank advances Rs 1 cr to unemployed

Srinagar, Feb 9: The J&K Bank disbursed Rs 1.08 crore among 66 beneficiaries on the concluding day of a 5-day District Employment Fair at Ramban.
 The fair was inaugurated by K B Magotra, District Development Commissioner, Ramban at Higher secondary School Ramban on February 1, 2010.
 J&K Bank was awarded first prize for its best presentation and performance during the fair, it said in a statement.
 Vice President JK Bank, Jammu (North) Abdul Rashid distributed loan cheques among the beneficiaries under different employment generating schemes.
 Expressing gratitude to the bank for making the fair a great success, Magotra hailed the contribution of the Bank for encouraging the local youth to take up self-employment ventures.
 “Financing projects aimed at generating self-employment avenues for the youth is the best way we can defeat unemployment. And J&K Bank has been playing a wonderful role ensuring that takers of entrepreneurship increase day by day”, he added.
 On the occasion, apart from a big congregation of people, Cluster Head, Udhampur / Ramban, G M Sadiq, Assistant DDC Ramban, Deputy Director Employment and other District level officers were also present.
