EJAC calls for strike on Feb 16, 17
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 10: Jammu and Kashmir employees joint action committee, the breakaway away faction of employees’ Joint Consultative Committee, Wednesday called for two day lockout of government offices on February 16 and 17.
A statement issued here urged the employees to stay away from government and semi-government offices to make the strike successful. It appealed the employees to stage protest demonstrations in main markets and at the district headquarters.
“The decision about the strike has been taken by the collective leadership of JKEJAC and it will be held simultaneously in Jammu and Kashmir regions,” it said.
It said the strike was against the government’s dilly-dallying tactics in addressing the demands of the employees including the full implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations, enhancement in retirement age and other demands.
“We will intensify the agitation if our demands were not met,” it said.
