Mind your business: KCCI to CRPF

REACTION

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Feb 10: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry has taken a serious note of Greater Kashmir report on City Page Wednesday on humiliation and threatening of BSNL subscribers allegedly by the CRPF at the behest of BSNL officials.
“Due to disturbed conditions and restrictions prevailing in Srinagar since the start of this month the movement of subscribers has been severely affected and keeping this in view it was incumbent upon the BSNL authorities to extend the last date for payment of bills,” the KCCI said.
“Secondly, the security forces posted in these departments are not there to regulate the billing counters nor is it part of their duty to enforce timings of the office,” it added.
“Apparently the security forces posted at the BSNL office have crossed the mandate given to them under law and are functioning as a law unto themselves. The higher authorities need to keep such elements in check so that unwarranted conflicts are not triggered,” the chamber added.
The BSNL authorities also need to look at the genuine problems of their subscribers and address them to the best satisfaction of their customers.
Meanwhile, the subscribers who had applied for  prepaid re-verification over a week ago have complained that their SIMs were yet to get clearance for recharge.
