Tourist hub goes dark
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 11: Residents of the tourist hub of Khonakhan Dalgate on Thursday appealed the Chief Engineer, Power Development Department to direct the PDD authorities desist from unscheduled power cuts in the locality.
The residents said the area houses many hotels and hosts hundreds of tourists these days.
“Our locality is fed by Feeder 5 TRC. Due to unscheduled power cuts particularly during evenings is causing inconvenience to the tourists,” they said.
Accusing the PDD of discrimination, the locals said the department had ensured round-the-clock power supply to adjoining area housing activists of various political parties. “Our area which is fully metered, has been deprived of its share of power supply,” they said.
