Army improves goodwill schools’ infrastructure
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar: The Army has constructed 30 schools and renovated 834 schools to help poor students in getting quality education in remote areas of the Valley.
A defence communiqué said, the schools had been equipped with labs, sports facilities and other infrastructure for all-round development. “The results for matriculation and 10+2 in 2008-2009 academic year in CBSE bear testimony that the children studying in the Army schools are doing exceedingly well despite their remote location. Out of 289 Children who appeared for the matriculation, 263 passed with distinction and first or second division,” it said.
It said the schools also organize tours for the children to various places across India. “The Army will continue the work till children of the Valley meet their aspirations and become model citizens of India,” it said.
