Pak govt to provide security to foreigners working in PaK

Muzaffarabad, Feb 14: The government of Pakistan on Sunday assured all support to Pakistan administrated Kashmir to provide security to the foreigners working on reconstruction and energy projects.
The assurance was given by Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik during his visit to Reconstruction and Hydro Electric projects mostly executed by Chinese firms.
A statement from PaK Prime minister office quoted Rehman Malik as having assured the government and Chinese working in these projects.
Accompanied by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, the federal Interior minister gave his go ahead to increase the capacity of police.
The statement said that the PaK govt was preparing new plan for the security of foreigners working on Mangla Dam and Neelum Jhelum projects.
Meanwhile, prime minister Haider Khan said that the purpose of Interior minister’s visit to Muzaffarabad was to inspect the Neelum Jhelum Hydel project and to get brief on the issues of security and public problems.
Khan said government had handed over 3000 kanal land to Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for construction of Neelum Jhelum project while additional 68 canal would be handed over to WPADA shortly.
