‘Action against illegal nursing homes, labs, clinics on cards’
GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, Feb 15: Turning down the plea from owners of private nursing homes for extension of date for completing of formalities, the Government today decided to initiate stringent action against the nursing homes, diagnostic centres and clinics functioning illegally in the state.
The Regulatory Body, constituted to enforce the norms to be adopted by the Nursing Homes, has been asked to initiate steps to seize all such establishments which are not fulfilling the set para-meters, as per the Supreme Court directions, within a week’s time, said the Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma at a meeting today.
He said the time limit granted by the SC to various Nursing Homes to meet the required para-meters had expired on January, 29 and there was no escape from the legal action for establishments violating the norms.
He said the Government gave ample time to the owners of these establishments to complete the formalities, but they took the matter lightly and most of them failed to do so.
Before going for action, the Government has also provided an opportunity to the Association to put forth their view point, he added.
