‘Child lifter’ held in LD

Srinagar, Feb 15: The attendants of patients at Lal Ded maternity hospital today caught hold of a man accusing him of being ‘child lifter.’
The attendants telephoned Greater Kashmir office and said the man was in an inebriated state was outside the labour room. The people thrashed him severely and handed him over to the police, sources in the hospital said.
When contacted the medical superintendent, Dr Muhammad Shafi said that the man was in inebriated state and had been handed over to the police. “The police ascertaining what was the youth doing in the hospital,” he said.
When asked as to how such elements get inside the hospital, he said that the hospital is guarded by eight to ten men during the night and it was difficult for them to stop the stop such persons.
The Superintendent of Police south, Irshad Khan, confirmed the arrest of the man saying the police was investigating the matter.
