Stadium Colony seeks drainage completion

Srinagar, Feb 15: The residents of Stadium Colony, Natipora are up in arms  against the authorities for “having failed in speedy construction” of the drain, which yet again inundated the colony in the past week rainfall.
 “Just two days of rains and snowfall inundated our colony in knee deep waters. What will be our plight during the nearing rainy season?” asked a delegation of the locals from the area.
 The residents said the water has seeped into their houses.
 “It’s not only difficult to walk but even to live in such conditions when you have water all around,” the locals said.
 “Even though the water receded a lot, we fear trouble may re-erupt again in the coming months,” they said.
 The residents appealed the local MLA, Nasir Sogami to look into the matter and get the drain work completed at an earliest.
