CM gives Rs 2.30 cr for Bandipore works

Bandipore, Feb 16: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today called for thrust on achieving targets and asked officers not be complacent with financial expenditure alone, even as he complimented Samba and Reasi for the good expenditures’ and progress in physical targets achieved.
Chairing the District Development Board meeting here, he asked the executors to maintain quality standard and extend support to NABCOM in the assessment of ongoing works. He said 600 works across J&K had been entrusted to NABCOM for assessment and evaluation. He also directed to furnish a statement of liabilities for clearance as no liability would be accepted in the next financial year.
To step up work on upcoming projects in the district, he announced additionalities totalling about Rs 2.30 crore including Rs 20 lakh for WSS, Hajan, Rs 8 lakh for WSS at Aloosa, Rs 50 lakh for acquiring land for play field in Gurez, Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh for renovation of Dak Bungalow and Bus Stand at Gurez, Rs 20 lakh under dug well scheme in Sonawari, Rs 50 lakh for Dak Bungalow at B'pore, Rs 9.82 lakh for two Bailley Bridges at B,pore, Rs 10 lakh for purchase of small water tanker and Rs 16.40 lakh for clearing liabilities incurred on Muhram arrangements.
CA&PD Minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon, who is the DDB Chairman, said Rs 200 crore were being spent on various schemes while as the Centre had released Rs 350 crore for improving and conservation of Wullar Lake.
The meeting was told that 14 primary schools were opened in the district and 20 primary schools were upgraded to the level of upper primary schools. In addition, 142621 mandays of work were generated through various rural development schemes in the district.
