EDB launches 2 farmer clubs

‘Take advantage of different bank schemes’

Srinagar, Feb 17: Chief General Manager NABARD M L Sukhdeve today asked the people to take benefits of the schemes offered by various banks, while launching two Farmers’ Clubs organized by Ellaquai Dehati Bank at Desu in Islamabad,
 Sukhdeve said that NABARD is providing financial support to the state government for building infrastructure in the state and people should come forward to work in close association with the govt and the financial institutions for raising their economic standards.
 Sukhdeve laid stress on of launching more Farmer Clubs and SHGs in the remote areas of the State for the betterment of the people.
 Speaking on the occasion, Chairman ED Bank A U Tak said the area has a vast potential for rearing milch cattle and sheep and the people can benefit from the Venture Capital scheme of NABARD.
 The chairman said that under this scheme, NABARD provides 50 percent subsidy on the capital outlay and also provides 50 % subsidy on interest payable by the borrower. Chairman urged the people to take benefit from the schemes launched by Ellaquai Dehati Bank for unemployed youth.
 ‘Bank has dozens of   viable schemes for the economic development of the people   living in rural areas and people should not hesitate in getting benefit from these tailor- made schemes.’
 Addressing to thousands of people who had gathered to welcome the distinguished guests,  Tak said that under the directions of government of India, Reserve Bank and NABARD, the EDB has launched ‘Financial Inclusion’ drive in the Islamabad and a door to door survey is being conducted by the bank official.
 He appealed the people to cooperate with those people as new and viable schemes can be launched by the bank on the inputs received from these surveys.
