Govt to frame panel for starting courses in colleges

Srinagar, Feb 17: The Minister of Higher Education, A G Malik today said the shortage of teaching staff in colleges would be sorted out soon, adding a committee would be framed to look into the matters regarding starting of new streams in the colleges. The Committee would be headed by Director Higher Education
Reviewing the functioning of higher education in Kashmir, Malik convened a meeting of officers and principals of the valley and discussed matters regarding admission of the students, release of UGC funds under 11th Finance Commission, Academic Calendar.
He asked for starting Science and Commerce subjects in Shopian and Kupwara Colleges and directed for deputing two officers from Jammu and Srinagar to Haryana for training under Edusat Hub Programme.
