Non-teaching college staff meet Malik

Srinagar, Feb 19: A deputation of non-teaching college employees met the Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik, at the Civil Secretariat here this morning to press their demands. The president of College Non-Teaching Employees Association, Javed Ahmad, led the deputation.
 The deputation sought one time regularization of the college employees engaged against local fund in various colleges. The government has already conceded the demand for the regularization of those appointed till September 2004 and even notified their list. 
 The Minister assured the deputation that their demands would be considered.
 The Minister was camping in the summer capital since Monday to be available to the people in the Winter Secretariat. During these days, hundreds of people met him with their problems on which he issued on-the-spot instructions to the authorities for early redress.
 Earlier, the Minister visited the residence of senior National Conference leader and former minister, Chaudhary Muhammad Ramzan, to offer personal condolences over the death of the latter’s mother.
