KPA, AJNEA delegation call on Rather, Rana

Srinagar, Feb 20: The state government has accorded sanction to the enhancement of advertisement rates by 40 per cent.
 However, finance department has restricted the annual expenditure to the budgetary allocation.
 A statement said that liabilities on account of advertisements have accumulated to the tune of Rs four crore over past few years while no funds were reportedly available with the Information department.
 A delegation of Kashmir Press Association (KPA) and all Jammu Newspapers Editors Association (AJNEA) today met the political advisor to Chief Minister, Devinder Singh Rana, Principal Secretary to CM, K A Ganai and Principal Secretary cum Planning Commissioner, B B Vyas.
 The delegation was led by KPA President G H Kaloo and AJNEA President Ravinder Singh and discussed the issues with them at length.
 The delegation was assured that necessary addition shall be provided in the next budget but additionalities of funds to liquidate liabilities shall be provided after the report by the special audit is submitted to the finance department.
 Earlier, KPA President discussed these issues with the finance minister, A R Rather. The delegation comprised Vajeeh Ahmad Andrabi, Abdul Rashid Rahil, Nazir Ahmad Wani, Rahamat Ullah Khan from KPA and Aadarsh Pal Gupta, Banarsi Dutt Sharma and Satish Mahajan from AJNEA.
